Our services

Architects, Planning Agents & Property Developers – We provide noise impact assessments for planning applications and our reports will offer mitigation and recommendations to support your projects. We would typically carry out either (or both) a BS 4142 assessment (described below) or BS 8233 which provides guidance for the control of noise in and around buildings. BS 8233 guidelines help define what is considered to be acceptable in different environments.

Sound Insulation TestingWe offer sound testing for Part E of The Building Regulations. We operate throughout the UK using our regional consultants and work flexibly to accommodate our clients needs to minimise any disruption to the working day. Our engineers are fully accredited to provide certificates of compliance to Part E building control. Air Tightness Testing can also be undertaken by our own engineers on the same visit if required.

Industrial & Commercial – We have many years experience and expertise in carrying out noise impact assessments in the industrial sectors where there might be either a pre existing or potential noise issue. Generally we would need to carry out a noise assessment in compliance with BS 4142 which describes methods for rating and assessing noise of an industrial or commercial nature. It enables the effects on people nearby to be assessed and the associated risks to be minimised. Following the noise survey we would issue a report which would also include mitigation measures and recommendations using the most practical and reliable noise control solutions. Full noise control manufacturing services are available if required.

Occupational Noise Risk Assessments in the workplace (The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005) – Do you have a noise problem at work? We provide noise risk assessments for all types of businesses where there is a risk of excessive noise levels to employees. As an employer you have a legal obligation to assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to noise so that you can protect the hearing of your employees.

The risk assessment will focus on individual employee/roles, the noise exposure limits and the action levels pertaining to the current regulation. Upon completion we will issue a report which will outline  recommendations and mitigation measures, if required.

Music & Entertainment –  The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 now covers the music and entertainment sector where employees working in pubs, bars, restaurants and nightclubs should be protected from the effects of excessive noise levels and potential noise induced hearing loss. As an employer you should carry out regular noise assessment by a competent person. Legislation for the Music & Entertainment Industry

Event OrganisersWe have a wealth of experience in carrying out professional noise monitoring at live events to make sure that your planned function runs smoothly and trouble free. We work closely both pre and post event with event organisers, local authorities and sound engineers to make it your success.

As an event organiser you may be asked to submit a Noise Management Plan to accompany your planning application to the local authority, this often helps the planning officer to make a more informed decision as to whether they will issue a licence to you. We also provide this service and would be happy to liaise with the authority on your behalf.
